A team from the University of Colorado led by Assistant Professor Nikolaus Correll has developed a swarm of miniature robots which they aim to reproduce in large quantities to tackle complex challenges such as cleaning up oil spills. Initially, the team created a swarm of 20 robots, each the size of a ping pong ball, dubbed “droplets,” but they hope that with more robots they’ll be able to create a “liquid that thinks.” Read the rest of University Of Colorado Develops Swarm Of Ping Pong Ball-Sized Robots To Contain Oil Spills Permalink | Add to del.icio.us | digg Post tags: Academics , aerospace , automated robots , Computational Science & Engineering , Computer Science , engineering , minature robots , nanorobots , Nikolaus Correll , oil spill clean up , ping pong robots , Research & Creative Works , robot builders , robot swarm , robotics , Space sciences , space station construction , University of Colorado
